Monroe Approves Purchase of 5 New Fire Trucks: Report
The new vehicles replace six older trucks that had been in service for the last two to three decades.

MONROE, CT — The Town of Monroe has approved the purchase of five new fire trucks for both the Stepney Fire Department, Stevenson Volunteer Fire Company and the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, reports the Monroe Courier.
According to the report, the new trucks include a tower-ladder, engine-rescue, engine-tanker and tanker truck. The trucks replace six older firetrucks that had been in use for the last few decades.
Town officials say advancements in firefighting technologies and increasing maintenance costs sparked the purchase.
