Monroe Area Fireworks Are This Weekend: Where To Watch Nearby
Nearby towns will host Independence Day celebrations within a short drive of Monroe.
MONROE, CT — While Monroe does not host a town-sponsored Independence Day fireworks display this year, residents won't have to travel far to celebrate the Fourth of July.
Several nearby communities will host fireworks, live entertainment and family-friendly festivities over the coming days.
Light Up Monroe
Monroe's Light Up Monroe initiative is encouraging residents to place candle-lit luminaria bags outside their homes on July 4 as part of the town's celebration of America's 250th anniversary.

Organizers are offering luminaria kits for purchase and hope the display will create a community-wide tribute visible throughout town on Independence Day.
Brookfield Fireworks
Brookfield's America 250 fireworks celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 26, at Brookfield Town Hall, 100 Pocono Road.

The free event will conclude with a fireworks display beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Danbury Fireworks Celebration
Danbury's annual fireworks show returns Saturday, June 27, at Candlewood Town Park, 36 Hayestown Road.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with live music by Junk beginning at 6 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for dusk, and admission is free. The rain date is Sunday, June 28.
