Monroe Budget Referendum Tuesday

If the budget is approved, Monroe residents could see a decrease in their property taxes.

MONROE, CT -- Residents will vote tomorrow evening, Tuesday April 3, on whether to send the proposed operating and capital budgets to a referendum. The $84.8 million budget request affords the Board of Education $56.1 million, the town side $28.5 million and fund appropriations $185,000.

If approved, the budget would see a reduction in the mill rate with a commensurate reduction in property taxes. The town's website lists the following places open tomorrow for voting, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.:
