Monroe Cops Urge Residents to Plunge at Park for Charity
Many residents will again be "freezin' for a reason," when they take the "Plunge at the Park" next month.
MONROE, CT — The police department, and many more, will again be "freezin' for a reason," when they take the "Plunge at the Park" on April 6.
The plunge is the largest grassroots fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut, according to the group's website. Participants are required to raise a minimum of $50 for the charity.
The local event is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 at Great Hollow Lake in Wolfe Park, in Monroe. Check-in begins at 11:00 a.m. Plunging and freezing commences at 1 p.m.

Organizers are encouraging plungers to wear costumes, and will award prizes for top fundraisers and best outfits.
