The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Stabilizing taxes !!! Under this administration I have been part of an effort to keep taxes controlled in Monroe. Under the previous administration taxes continued to grow at approximately 3% per year.
The Kellogg administration including myself has helped keep taxes at under a 1% a year increase in four years. That’s a very difficult task in these times.
I would continue to assist in any activity that will save the citizens of monroe tax dollars. Wether it’s watching spending or increasing the grand list to take the burden off working families.
I intend to assist in any decisions to streamline the ability to remodel or build in monroe responsibly which will in time make for a more beautiful town and will keep property taxes in check.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
Critical difference is having a law enforcement background, I understand what policies will change a community. My wide range of experiences being in public safety, construction, and business make me an extremely versatile and useful member of town council.
As town Council liaison to the police department I am in constant contact with law enforcement personal pertaining to wide variety of public safety and As a Town councilman appointed by the council to be a Chairman on a 4, 600, 000 EMS project, and my construction and business experience gave me the wherewithal to get the EMS personal a home they have been wanting for over 15yrs.
Accomplishments:
As Chairman of the EMS building Committee I have successfully with the help of my team saved our tax payers 500k through competitive bidding and released about 1, 000, and 000 dollars into the local economy by hiring Monroe Contractors. I have rebuilt many committees as Vacancy Chairman bringing on talented people to assist in making better decisions on boards and commissions
Other issues:
My platform has been and always will be just doing my best to take care of the people of this town. Trying to maintain the Culture in Monroe so families and their children can grow and prosper as many generations have done before them.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
The voters of Monroe that know me know that I’m very transparent. Im always around town openly talking to citizens.
I purchase local, support local and love cuisine. An active community is a happy community and supporting local athletes is also core value of mine as I have volunteer coached and sponsored sports teams for many years. I believe in supporting families that revolve around sports activities, is a great way to keep an active, and vibrant community.
I also appreciate music and anything pertaining to a creative process. It’s been extremely rewarding being on Town council and the impact I have been able to make is very humbling.
It’s been an honor to be of service to a town that my Canfield family lineage has occupied for centuries.
