UPDATE: Two Dogs Dead From Monroe House Fire
The fire broke out around 8 a.m. Wednesday
MONROE, CT - Two dogs died in an early morning fire in Monroe on Wednesday, the Connecticut Post reported.
The fire broke out after 8:00 a.m. inside the house at 86 Pepper Street. First responders saw flames coming from inside the house, and flames had broken through a front window.
Firefighters from the Stepney Volunteer Fire Department, Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc., Stevenson Volunteer Fire Company and Botsford Fire Rescue all responded to the call, Stepney posted on its Facebook page.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before two dogs that had been in the house died, and a firefighter suffered an injury due a slip on the ice.
