Monroe First Selectman Announces 2016-2017 Budget Proposal
First Selectman Steve Vavrek presented a step-by-step proposed budget to taxpayers for the 2016-2017 year.

First Selectman Steve Vavrek announced Wednesday that he has posted his proposed reductions and additions for the 2016-2017 Town of Monroe budget.
Vavrek said in a statement:
“As you know, the First Selectman proposal is the first part of the Budget process. Depending on the pending State Budget and meetings of the Town Council then Board of Finance working with our Board of Education, the numbers you will see below usually get adjusted for your ultimate vote on Tuesday April 5. Please remember, while there will be many public meetings of the Town Council, Board of Finance and Board of Education as well as various Parents Council and PTO’s, you are welcome to ask both my office and the office of the Superintendent any questions you may have.”
