
A Monroe man is facing a DUI charge after he was reportedly seen operating in an erratic manner on Route 25 on Monday.
An officer on patrol on Route 25 observed a grey Honda Civic driven by Glen Altpfart, 59 traveling north that made an unsafe left turn on Route 59, nearly striking a vehicle while doing so, police said.
According to police, the officer followed the Honda onto Hattertown Road and observed erratic operation, stopping the vehicle.

Altpfart failed standard field sobriety tests, police said. During booking, he submitted to a breath tests which revealed his BAC to be .245.
He was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was given a $500 bond and a court date of June 1.
