Monroe Man Facing DUI Charge After Two Injured in Roll Over Crash
The force from the crash tore the driver's side rear wheel.

A Monroe man is facing DUI charges after a two-vehicle roll over crash.
Police received report of an erratic driver on Route 25 around 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 7. Shortly after telling police about the vehicle, the caller told police the red Ford Windstar traveling North crossed over the center line and struck another vehicle.
Police said the driver, Thomas Schultz, 24 struck the read driver’s side of a Red Ford pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction. The force of the impact tore the driver’s side rear wheel off the truck, causing it to roll over, police said.

The operator of the truck and the passenger were both taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage on Schultz and he failed standard field sobriety tests, police said. He was charged with operating under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Shultz was given a $500 bond and a court date of Aug. 17.
