Monroe Man Fled Domestic Violence Scene, Found in Vehicle Under the Influence
The man fled the scene following the domestic violence incident and was found by officers in his vehicle after getting in an accident.

A Monroe man was arrested on domestic violence and DUI charges.
According to police, Mark Lutz, 48, left the scene of a domestic altercation at Lutz’s Pepper Street residence.
Police responded to the complaint of a disturbance on Feb. 1 at around 10:45 p.m.

Lutz is accused of punching two individuals that reside at the residence and pushing a third individual over the age of 60 to the floor. He also interrupted a 911 emergency call by slapping the telephone out of the caller’s had, causing it to hit the floor and break.
Lutz then left the scene and was located by police in his vehicle after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Pepper Street. Officers detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and based on the results of the standardized field testing, Lutz was placed under arrest for DUI, as well as for the charges stemming from the domestic violence incident at his residence.

Lutz was charged with second-degree assault, assault of a victim over 60, interfering with an emergency call, risk of injury to a minor, driving under the influence, traveling too fast for conditions and no insurance.
He was given a $25,000 bond of the domestic violence charges and a $500 bond for the motor vehicle charges, which he was not able to post.
Lutz was taken to court Feb. 2.
