Unlike typical live TV, the live video remains recorded on a person's Facebook profile, enabling users to re-play a video that had been previously broadcast live.
Like most new technological developments, live streaming has produce positive and negative byproducts. It has allowed millions to tune in to watch the birth of a baby giraffe at the New York Zoo.
However, it also has had some ugly moments, including the disturbing video of a 18-year-old Illinois man who's torture was captured on a Facebook Live stream.
Nussbaum was charged with risk of injury/impairing morals of a minor. She was released on a promise to appear and issued a court date of March 10 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
