Monroe PD Invite You to "Coffee with a Cop"

It's a free community event at the McDonald's on Route 17M.

MONROE, CT --- The Monroe Police Department is inviting the public to "Coffee With A Cop," to be held Saturday, April 28, between 10:00 a.m. and noon in the McDonald's at 501 Route 17M.

The police promise "no agendas or speeches, just a chance to meet our officers, get to know them and ask questions." Members of the newly formed Community Policing Unit will be on hand.

"Coffee with a Cop" was created by police officers in Hawthorne, California, in 2011. Since then, events have been hosted in all 50 states and nine countries. The program brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about each other.
