Monroe In Pictures: Great Hollow Lake In Wolfe Park

MONROE, CT — Known for its trout fishing, as well as being among the most serene enclaves in western Connecticut, Great Hollow Lake in Monroe's Wolfe Park is majestic in any season.

Patch reader Ed Gratrix took these shots during the fall of 2022 and 2021.

The lake covers about 16 acres, and the park includes facilities for baseball, basketball, tennis and picnicking. Fishing, swimming and non-motorized boating are all permitted.

The lake is rimmed by a 0.8-mile loop nature trail that will set you back about 15 minutes, according to nature walk website AllTrails. It's open year-round, but leave the pups at home.
