Monroe Police: Man Charged After Trying to Push Girlfriend from Car

The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. on Sunday.

A Milford man was arrested Sunday night after police say he got into an argument with his girlfriend while she was driving.

According to police, a resident of the 100 block of Purdy Hill Road in Monroe reported observing two vehicles stopped in the roadway and a male was assaulting a female in one vehicle. The vehicles moved up the roadway when the resident yelled that they would call the police.

The vehicles were located by police in the rear driveway of the Monroe Post Office.

After investigation police found that David McCall, 29 was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his girlfriend and after getting into an argument with her he grabbed the steering wheel almost causing an accident.

When the vehicle stopped, McCall attempted to physically remove his girlfriend from the driver’s seat, police said. A friend of McCall’s girlfriend was following in a separate vehicle and witnessed the incident.

McCall was charged with breach of peace and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was given a $1000 bond and a court date of April 6.
