MONROE, CT — Monroe police and other volunteers were "freezin' for a reason" this past weekend.

The Penguin Plunge fundraiser takes place throughout the state each year, and benefits Special Olympics Connecticut.

The Monroe PD staged their Plunge at Great Hollow Lake in Wolfe Park on Saturday and raised over $41,000, according to a post on social media.
