Monroe Police Report 'Rash' of Car Break-ins, Thefts

Breaking: Police in Monroe and Shelton are investigating a series of vehicle thefts.

MONROE, CT — Monroe police are warning residents after seeing an uptick in thefts from cars across the Monroe and Shelton border.

Capt. Keith White announced Wednesday that police in Monroe and Shelton are investigating a series of thefts from cars across the border of the two towns. Police say that in each of the cases, the car was left unlocked and no forced entry reported.

Police say that all of the crimes happened during overnight hours, and the cars were left unlocked in residential driveways. Residents are urged to call the police, regardless of the time of day, when they hear or see any suspicious activity in their neighborhood, said White.
