Monroe Recognized As A 'Tree City' By Arbor Day Foundation

MONROE, CT — For the 19th year, Monroe has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Forests, as a "Tree City USA" municipality.

"The award is given to honor Monroe’s commitment to effective community forest management and meeting criteria that demonstrates Monroe’s commitment to responsible municipal tree care," First Selectman Ken Kellogg said in a news release.

Monroe Parks & Recreation has scheduled the town's 2023 Arbor Day observance and tree planting ceremony for Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Wolfe Park. All are invited to attend.
