Monroe Represented in Latest CT Police Training Class Graduation

An announcement released from the Connecticut Emergency Services and Public Protection Department (with minor changes):

The Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) proudly announces the graduation of Recruit Class #346. The class of 46 Recruits, representing 25 Municipal Police Departments and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Conservation Police [completed] their training program on Dec. 18, 2014.

A graduation ceremony [was] held at Central Connecticut State University’s Welte Hall in New Britain on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at 6 p.m.

The class roster consists of police officers representing the 25 police departments in Avon, Bristol, Cheshire, Clinton, Cromwell, East Hartford, East Lyme, Enfield, Guilford, Manchester, Meriden, Middletown, Monroe, Newtown, North Haven, Norwalk, Norwich, Orange, Simsbury, Stratford, Torrington, West Hartford, West Haven, Wallingford, Wilton and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The Recruits have completed an extensive 880-hour Basic Training Curriculum at the Connecticut Police Academy in Meriden, encompassing academic and practical skills, firearms, defensive tactics, patrol driving, penal code, motor vehicle law, laws of arrest, search and seizure, and a host of other topics.
