Monroe Revaluation Complete, Homeowners Can Expect Updated Figure

Residents will get their revaluation amount in the mail soon.

MONROE, CT — Property owners in town should be getting their updated assessment in the mail soon. Vision Government Services, which was contracted by the town to undertake the revaluation finished its work Oct. 1.

Property owners will have from Dec. 2 to Dec. 20 to discuss the new assessment with VGS. Appointments must be made. Written appeals can be made after the informal discussion with VGS and must be done no later than Feb. 20, 2020.

Every town in Connecticut must complete a revaluation once every five years under state law. The assessment is 70 percent of a property's fair market value, which is roughly what an owner can expect to get if the property were put up for sale.
