There is a parking ban during winter storms. Residents are strongly encouraged to clear the fire hydrants near their homes if it gets covered by snow during a storm in case of an emergency.
From the Town of Monroe:
“Due to the predicted snow storm tomorrow, a parking ban will most likely be in effect. Vehicles parked in the road hinder snow removal efforts and create a hazard for public works and emergency vehicles. Any vehicle parked on a town road may be ticketed and/or towed. Please limit calls to the police department to police, fire or medical emergencies only. Report any utility disruptions directly to the utility company providing the service. Report hazardous conditions, such as downed utility poles or power lines to the police department. Thank you and be safe.”
