Monroe Teacher Contract Set To Go Into Effect
The contract includes salary increases over three years along with an increased share of healthcare premiums for teachers.
MONROE, CT — The Monroe teachers' contract was automatically approved after the Town Council didn't take action on it by the Jan. 16 deadline.
The contract includes 8.9 percent in raises over three years, according to the Monroe Sun. Healthcare insurance premiums will go from 18.75 percent for teachers in the first year to 21 percent in the third year.
The contract will add more than $2.3 million in costs over three years to the Board of Education budget.
