Monroe Town Finance Office To Oversee School Finances

The move comes after the school superintendent and interim finance director were put on leave amid budget concerns.

MONROE, CT — The town finance office will temporarily oversee Board of Education finances after school Superintendent Jack Zamary and Interim Finance Director Frank Connolly were put on administrative leave.

The Town Council approved the measure which will last until Feb. 28 and could possibly lead to a permanent combination down the road if the Town Council and Board of Education agree to it, according to the Monroe Sun.

Some Democrats on the Town Council expressed concern over some of the legal language in the agreement.
