Monroe Town Meeting Scheduled for Possible Closure of Stevenson Post Office
The Stevenson Post Office located at 281 Cottage St. may close.
Postal Service officials will present information about services provided at Stevenson Post Office before the Monroe Town Council at a public meeting on Monday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. in the Monroe Town Council Chambers, according to the News Times.
Maureen Marion, a postal service spokeswoman told the newspaper, “The lease at the Stevenson Post Office, located at 281 Cottage Street, is scheduled to end on September 27 and negotiations to stay in that facility have not been finalized at this time. The landlord informed the Postal Service that he does not wish to renew the lease in August, although negotiations are ongoing.”
