What is a Bink-a-thon?

A Bink-A-Thon is a fun filled day where folks of all ages and levels of talent, gather for one
day to make as many binkies = blankets as possible to be given to local agencies, shelters or
hospitals. We plan to give our binkies to Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent’s Medical Center,
Danbury Hospital NICU, Griffin Hospital and Yale –New Haven Children’s Hospital; as well
as to provide a supply to our Monroe & Trumbull EMS ambulance drivers.
We are happy to welcome our 1st sponsor: A&S Nathan Heating and Cooling of Ansonia. Their
generous donation will allow us to stock the place with fleece! If any other companies want to
sponsor us as well, please message us per contact information below.
There will be stations set up for organizing fabric, cutting & tying fleece, pinning & sewing
quilts, crocheting & knitting blankets & squares, and anything that goes into making a blanket.
While we will have supplies on hand, please bring what you can, including scissors. Our goal is
to make as many blankets as we can: all sizes, any material – including crochet & knit, quilts &
fleece. We collected & made over 200 at our 1st binkathon and just know we can do more!

When each blanket is completed, it will be logged in and a Binky Patrol label will be sewed on.
All are invited to attend –adults & children of all ages, however –please do not leave children unattended.

We will also sign off on any community service hours for students. Coffee, water and light refreshments will be available.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to support our efforts, please feel free to make a

donation of any type: cash or checks made payable to Binky Patrol; Gift Cards for JoAnn’s or
Michaels; new yarn or fleece material. We will also accept drop offs of completed blankets that
day, to be include in our Bink-a-thon count.
