Monroe Voters Approve $99.7M 2023-24 Budget

The projected tax increase for the whole package is 1.87 percent.

MONROE, CT — Voters approved the $99.7 million budget for 2023-24 at the polls on Tuesday.

Unofficial vote totals are 923 "Yes" (55.9 percent) and 728 "No," according to an email from the First Selectman's Office.

The budget includes $31,249,688 for town operations, a 1.47 percent increase over the current spending plan. The Board of Education's allocation is $67,683,424, a 4.8 percent jump. The budget includes another $813,868 for contingency, capital and non-operating appropriations. The projected tax increase for the whole package is 1.87 percent.
