Obit: Candace Callan, 75 Of Monroe

She was a registered nurse for more than 30 years.

Candace R. "Candie" Chamberlain Callan, R.N., age 75 of Monroe, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was raised in Easton, CT, daughter to the late Robert and Gertrude Russell Chamberlain and was married to her beloved husband, William, of 53 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kyle Ushka and her husband Mike of Southbury and Corley Fleming of Cheshire. She has four grandchildren, Michael, Rachael, Callan and Molly and two sisters Cherie Swetts and husband Tom of Waterbury and Cindie Beauchamp of Canton, and several nieces and nephews. Candace worked as an R.N. for E.N.T. Associates of Fairfield/Trumbull for over 30 years. She was a member of the Monroe and Bridgeport Historical Society, The Daylilly Society, Harbor Valley Yacht Club and the Connecticut Post Card Club. She was an avid gardener who loved creating her own kind of daylily. Candie had a brilliant flame in her soul that will be missed terribly. A special thanks to Dr. Stephen Levinson for all of his help these past few years.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call Monday from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m, in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
