Obit: ​Rose Barbin, 78 of Monroe

She was a lifelong area resident.

Rose Barbin, 78 of Monroe, the beloved wife of the late Donald Barbin, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport to the late Fred and Rose (Herlihy) Jennings and was a lifelong area resident.

She graduated from Saint Ann School, Saint Mary’s Catholic High School, and Paier School of Art, where she met her husband Don. Then she worked briefly at Norcross Greeting Card Company in NYC before starting her family. She enjoyed classic movies, especially musicals, comedies and animated features. Sharing her vast knowledge of films with friends and family gave her and others pleasure. Rose was also an avid reader with a love of animals. She carried her silly, creative, witty, and quirky energy throughout her lifetime, which had a positive influence on her three daughters. Her infectious smile was appreciated by all.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Colette Barbin-Daniels and her husband, Kevin of Milford, Celeste Hasenjaeger and her husband, John of Matthews, NC, and Jennifer Barbin of Monroe. She will also be missed by her childhood friend Mary Firment of Titusville, FL.
