Obituary: Ciara O'Driscoll, 12, of Monroe
Through her courage and positive attitude in fighting Dravet Syndrome, she became a symbol of hope and inspiration to countless others.

Ciara Ava O'Driscoll, 12, of Monroe, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 16, 2017 as a result of complications from a seizure disorder that she has suffered with since birth.
Born in New Haven on January 13, 2005, she was the daughter of Liam E. O'Driscoll of Fairfield and Lori Weaver O'Driscoll of Monroe.

A 6th grade student at Jockey Hollow Middle School, Ciara was born with Dravet Syndrome, a genetic seizure disorder that she has battled her entire life. Through her courage and positive attitude in fighting this disorder, she became a symbol of hope and inspiration to countless others. Her perseverance and strength has touched the lives of many.
She loved being a big sister to Aidan more than anything, and was a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, fairies, and mermaids. She was never angry or sad and her positive attitude inspired many with hope. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, other survivors include her brother, Aidan O'Driscoll, maternal grandparents, Helen "Abuela" and William Shimkus, and paternal grandparents, Joe and Patricia O'Driscoll, nine uncles, six aunts and 11 loving cousins.
Friends may greet the family on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. directly at Masuk High School.
At the request of the family, please wear Ciara's favorite colors, pink, green or purple and anything with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, fairies or mermaids. No black please. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the O 'Driscoll family is asking for memorial contributions to be made "In memory of Ciara O'Driscoll" to Camp Boggy Creek, 30500 Brantley Branch Road, Eustis, FL 32736 or at www.boggycreek.org.
