Obituary: David A. Martin
Masuk High School physics teacher David Martin died on Dec. 6 at the age of 61.

David A. Martin, 61, of Bristol, beloved husband of Kathleen (Nestico) Martin, died on Thursday (December 6, 2012) at Bristol Hospital. David was born in Bristol on December 16, 1950 and was a son of the late Alfred and Jennie (Rudzinski) Martin.
A lifelong Bristol resident, he graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and then attended and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a teaching degree from Central Connecticut State University and a Master's degree from Eastern Connecticut State University.
He taught Physics at Bristol Central High School for more than 20 years and at Masuk High School in Monroe for the past four years. He loved teaching and was adored and respected by his students for his engaging, innovative, and exciting teaching methods.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jean-Paul Martin and Courtney Dobkin of Brookline, MA, and Aaron and Sarah Martin of Stratford, CT; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Desiree and Bryan Sullivan of Fairfax, VA, Liesl Martin and Eric Burke, and Christina Martin of Boston, MA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Shirley Martin of Templeton, MA, and Wayne and Nancy Martin of York, ME; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends called on him at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Monday and a memorial service to followed. It was conducted by the Rev. Kristen Kleiman of First Congregational Church of Bristol.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
