Obituary: Frederick M. Ravis

Calling hours will be held at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home on Thursday.

Frederick M. Ravis, 77, of Monroe , passed away at home on Monday, July 23, after a brief illness. Born in Stamford to Michael Ravis and Rose Koi-Ravis on November 10, 1934.

He was self-employed for over 50 years in his own construction company. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years and fought for our country in the Korean War. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending his time hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his adoring sisters; Elvira Chadwick of Trumbull, Irene Phillips of West Haven, Jolanda Barber of Bridgeport and Gloria Guimares of Bridgeport. Also, his two sons; Sam Ravis and his wife Maryellen of Pennsylvania and Michael Ravis and his wife Antonina of Monroe, his Granddaughters Nicole Ravis-Heinz, Jennifer Ravis and Kaileigh Ravis and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife Daisy Guthrie-Ravis and son Fred Ravis as well as his brother Ray Ravis and sister Viola White.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike Monroe with a funeral service at 7:30 p.m.. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be made by visiting spadaccinofuneralhome.com
