Obituary: Gerard Arthur Sheehan Jr., 87, of Monroe
Mr. Sheehan was an army veteran of the Korean War and member of the Korean War Vets in the greater Danbury area.

MONROE, CT --- Gerard Arthur Sheehan Jr. (Art), age 87, of Monroe, passed away April 28, 2018 in Masonicare Newtown, CT.
Mr. Sheehan was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Gerard and Jessie Sheehan. He graduated from Roger Ludowe High School and received his B.A. from Fairfield University. He was the proprietor of Investigative Services. After his retirement he was an associate at his son's firm Thomas G. Sheehan Agency.
Mr. Sheehan was an army veteran of the Korean War and member of the Korean War Vets in the greater Danbury area. He was an active member of the community. He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Blessed Pope John XXIII Council #5987, and of the Monroe Grandparents Club, past member of the A.O.H., member of St. Stephen's Holy Name Society and the bowling league, a religious education teacher at St. Jude's Parish and substitute teacher at Masuk High School as recently as November of 2017.

He enjoyed mentoring a young student early on all the way through his high school years. He even found time to take bagpipe lessons in honor of his Uncle Donald Henderson. He strove to make a difference in life each day with his positive attitude and influence with his family, friends, all his wonderful caretakers and even those he did not know. Family, Friends and Faith was his motto.
His family meant the world to him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine Fekete Sheehan whom he missed dearly. Survivors include his two devoted children Thomas (Lynn) of Woodbury and Deborah (Timothy) Reilly of Newtown; four grandchildren Emily (Jonathan) Gregori, Meghan (Joseph) Andrews, Sean (Claire) Reilly and Brendan (Maggie) Reilly; five great grandchildren Haley, Morgan, Alexa, Cecilia and Quinn.
