Obituary: Lorenza Pirulli, 86, of Monroe

MONROE, CT — Lorenza Pirulli, age 86 of Monroe, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was born in Rutigliano Bari, Italy on April 2, 1932 to the late Pietro Bozzi and Caterina Redavid Bozzi. Lori moved to the United States in 1956 after marrying the love of her life, the late Damiano Pirulli.

Lori worked side by side with her husband at Monaco's Market in Bridgeport which they owned and operated for more than 30 years. After selling the business in 1984, she worked for more than 20 years at the Trumbull Marriott until her retirement. Her relentless and efficient work ethic earned her multiple employee of the month awards at the Marriott.

Survivors include her devoted sons and their families: Leonardo (Jill) of South Carolina, Peter (Debbie), Anthony (Justine) and Mario (Lana) all of Monroe. Her 13 cherished grandchildren: Nicholas, Anthony, Michael, Matthew, Angelina, Zack, Jake, Nico, Gina, Bronte, Maya, Lily and Dominick Pirulli. Two great-grandchildren, her loving sister, Rosa Pirulli of Milford and brother, Giovanni of Foggia, Italy along with several nieces and nephews. Besides Damiano and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Giuseppe of Italy.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet Lori's family on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
