Obituary: Olga Lopata Kach, 97, of Monroe

Olga was a retired waitress and had also worked for General Electric.

MONROE, CT — Olga Lopata Kach, age 97, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Joseph Kach, passed away on October 10, 2018 at the Encore of Boca Raton Health Center.

Olga was born in Bridgeport on February 15, 1921 to the late Stanley and Helen (Zurko) Lopata and had been a long time area resident. She was a retired waitress and had also worked for General Electric. Olga was a member of St. John's Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, where she was active with the Seniors Group, Mother's & Daughter's Club, and helped with baking for the Christmas Fair. She was also a devoted member of the Orthodox Women's Council.

Survivors include her beloved children, Nancy Hreschak and her husband Lee Caudle, and Ronald Kach and his wife Sharon, her grandsons, Joseph A. Kach, and Richard Hreschak Jr. and his wife Brenda, former son-in-law, Richard Hreschak Sr., three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Olga was pre-deceased by her grandson, Ronald Kach Jr., sisters, Alice Orloff, Mary Skoczylas, and Valentina Prusaczyk, and brothers, John, Stanley, and Walter Lopata.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17 at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport, for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Panachida will be at 4:30 p.m.
