Obituary: Raymond L. Jacob, Sr.
Raymond L. Jacob, Sr. died on Saturday, October 22 at the age of 76.

Raymond Lewis Jacob Sr. was born on March 18, 1935. He was a resident of Monroe for 43 years who lost a long battle with cancer after being in remission for 13 years. As a resident of Gardiner Heights for the past two-and-a-half years, he gave his illness a gallant fight.
He enjoyed seeing Monroe go from a rural area to suburbia. His years in Monroe held fond memories. Everyone loved to see Ray with his dog Puckin, a true blue friend, who visited the nursing home every day.
Jacob was predeceased by one sister, Arlene Rooney, his sister in-law Marguerite Finders and brother in-law Otto Finders. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Ada Jacob, two sons Raymond Jacob of Milford, and Christopher and wife Leigh-Ann Jacob of Oxford; grandchildren: Kyle Jacob who is currently in the Air Force and Tyler and Molly Jacob. Also, Kyle's mother Beth Brooks of Oxford.

He enjoyed his life with his grandchildren, as he had lost his family at a very young age. Ray and Chris are owners of R&C Auto Body in Shelton. As this was one of his dreams, he was very proud of their accomplishments.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 27 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home located at 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. A Memorial Service will also take place on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
