Obituary: Robert V. Galante, 92, of Monroe
Robert, who earned a Purple Heart in World War II, was a retired Vice President with Bankers Trust Company.

Robert V. Galante, 92, of Monroe, died peacefully on January 14, 2017. He was the beloved and devoted husband for almost 70 years to Carmela Forte Galante.
Robert was born in Manhattan, NY on May 20, 1924 to Benjamin and Antoinette (Iuele) Galante. As a member of the greatest generation Robert served his country with honor in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, earning a purple heart.

Robert was a retired Vice President with Bankers Trust Company, he was also an active parishioner of St. Jude Parish in Monroe for more than 20 years. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert (Ellen),Michael (Donna). Predeceased by his son Thomas (Donna) and his sister Marie. Robert was the Proud grandfather to Thomas, Joseph, Matthew, Danielle and Michael. Great grandfather to Tony, Giovanni, Alex, and Vinny.
