Oil Delivery Truck Crash Closes Road in Monroe
The truck struck a tree and caused a rupture in its 2,500 gallon oil tank, according to officials.
MONROE, CT — Emergency crews have been working at the scene of an accident on Judd Road involving an oil delivery truck that left the roadway and struck a tree and caused a rupture in the truck’s 2,500 gallon oil tank, according to officials.
Units from the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department and the Stepney Fire Department have been at the scene since Monday morning. The units are working on mitigating the spill with Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP), according to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.
NBC Connecticut reports that Judd Road is closed between North Street in Easton and Hattertown Road in Monroe and is expected to remain closed for 48 hours.
