Oxford Man Dead From Gunshot Wound at Monroe's Stevenson Dam: PD

The man was "observing wildlife" Tuesday evening when the shot was fired.

MONROE, CT -- A 24-year-old Oxford man who was observing wildlife below the Stevenson Dam in Monroe Tuesday night is dead from a gunshot wound, police said.

Officers responded to a call from someone who heard a gunshot around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the vicinity of the dam. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he later died.

Monroe Police Capt. Keith White told The Patch that investigators "have ruled out foul play."
