Monroe resident Dona-Lyn Wales tells Patch why she should be re-elected to the Town Council.

No
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
I currently serve on the Town Council and am a member of the Town Council Strategic Planning Subcommittee and the Finance, Health, Education and Public Safety Subcommittee. I am also a current Justice of the Peace. I served in the past as a member of the Board of Finance, Conservation Commission, and Edith Wheeler Memorial Library Board.
Why are you seeking this office?
I am a lifelong resident of Monroe and I would like to give back to my community that is my home.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
An issue facing the town is to control taxes. The best way to control taxes is by presenting and passing fiscally sound budgets and encouraging economic growth by retaining the businesses that we have in town and to add new businesses in the growing sectors of the economy.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have over 30 years of management experience in both public and private companies. In this role, I have implemented organizational policy and performed strategic planning. Also, I developed and managed multimillion-dollar annual budgets and continuously delivered an unbroken streak of staying within budget. I will leverage my expertise to ensure the development of solid policy and fiscally sound budgets as these issues are presented before the Town Council.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My work experience in the private sector demonstrating solid policy development and fiscal responsibility as well as my 3 years serving on the Town Council

I am a lifelong resident of Monroe and am proud to call it my home. As a current member of the Town Council, I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve all the people of Monroe and look forward to continuing to do so.
