Ship broker/commercial tanker operations executive Sean O’Rourke is running for re-election to the Monroe Town Council as a Republican. He holds a Bachelor of Science in marine transportation management and has two daughters with wife, Susan.

Why are you seeking this office?
To be able to continue giving back to my community in the most effective way I believe possible.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Taxes. I will continue to maintain my fiscally conservative stance by monitoring closely, incoming revenues against outgoing spending. Weighing carefully needs of our community versus the wants.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
As they have no record, I believe serving on previously elected boards or commissions it is difficult to list differences other than Party.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Being part of a group who helped to achieve a 1 pct increase in taxes over the last 6 years
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Listen, less talk.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am all about putting the Town and our community above everything else.
