Police, Parks & Rec To Host 'Monroe Night At The Park' Aug. 3

The event is part of the annual National Night Out initiative.

MONROE, CT — The 2021 "Monroe Night at the Park," part of the annual National Night Out event, is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 3 at Wolfe Park, organizers announced.

The free family event features food, games, demonstrations by the Monroe Police Department's K-9 officer and handler and other activities.

National Night Out is a community-building initiative held each year "that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie," according to the national organization.

Monroe is one of several Connecticut communities to participate in the national event; among the others is Naugatuck.

Last year's event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
