Police Seek Public's Aid In Monroe Drug Store Heist Investigation

Police are seeking the public's assistance identifying four men they say robbed a drug store on Wednesday.

MONROE, CT — Police are seeking the public's assistance identifying four men they say robbed a drug store on Wednesday.

At around 3:39 p.m., wearing ski masks and face coverings entered the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 308 Monroe Turnpike. The men ordered employees to open the safe where the pharmacy kept the narcotics, emptied it contents and exited the store, according to police.

Officers from the Monroe PD and surrounding towns were unable to locate the getaway car, a black Volkswagen Jetta with New York license plates, which had fled north on Monroe Turnpike/Route 111.

The police report that "thousands of pills and various narcotics were stolen." There were no weapons used in the heist, and no one was injured.

The incident remains under investigation. The Monroe Police Department is urging anyone with more information to call its Detective Division at 203-261-3622.
