Proposed 2022-23 Monroe Town Budget Clears A Hurdle

The Town Council approved the $31.7 million spending plan for 2022-23 this week; next up, it goes to the Board of Finance.

MONROE, CT — The Town Council this week approved Monroe's proposed $31.7 million budget for 2022-23, sending it to the Board of Finance for the next phase of review, The Monroe Sun reported.

The budget carries an increase of about a half percentage point above the current town government allocation. It does not include the Board of Education's $64.4 million budget request, which is handled separately but also will be reviewed by the Board of Finance.

Monroe's voters will have the final say on next year's budget in a referendum vote on May 3.
