Republican Announces Candidacy for Monroe First Selectman

Incumbent First Selectman Steve Vavrek announced earlier this week that he wouldn't be seeking re-election this November.

MONROE, CT — On the heels of First Selectman Steve Vavrek announcing that he would not seek re-election this November, Republican Ken Kellogg has declared his candidacy, according to the Monroe Courier.

The Courier reports Kellogg, a member of the Town Council, announced his candidacy to the Republican Town Committee and received their overwhelming support.

Kellogg said his campaign will be focused on keeping government small and taxes low, while still making proper and necessary investments in the community, according to the Courier.
