Road To Close For Months In Monroe During Ongoing Construction: Officials

The project is already underway and will impact traffic for weeks to come.

MONROE, CT — Road work in Monroe will close a portion of Old Zoar Road to through traffic for several months during construction, according to town officials.

The first phase of construction on Old Zoar Road is underway and includes drainage replacement, the town said in a Facebook post.

The Department of Public Works will remove and replace existing drainage pipes and repair catch basin tops as part of the project.

Work is scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., during which time Old Zoar Road will be closed to through traffic. Access will be limited to local residents, emergency vehicles and school buses, officials said.

Construction is expected to continue through June.

Separately, Aquarion is conducting scheduled work on Cross Hill Road that is expected to be completed by May 1, weather permitting, according to the town.
