
A Shelton woman is facing an OUI charge in Monroe.
On Monday, police observed a green Jaguar XType traveling south on Route 111 cross over the center line several times.
When stopped, police noticed a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath, police said. The driver, 41-year-old Sherry Taft allegedly had slurred speech.

Police said Taft failed standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested. She reportedly refused to submit to a breath test.
Taft was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane.

She was given a $500 bond and a court date of Aug 4.
