Based on a 2005 book, The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, parents plant a miniature figurine – named by the family – around the house in a different location every day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The elf, as the story goes, is there to keep an eye on the children and if they’re naughty or nice.
We’ve seen some truly amazing hiding spots in homes around the area, and now it’s time to share those awesome places with our neighbors. So the next time your Elf on the Shelf finds a new location, take a photo and send it over to wendy.mitchell@patch.com, and we’ll add it to our gallery.
