Theft From Car Reported in Monroe

A resident parked her car at the Rails-to-Trails Parking Lot and returned to find the passenger window smashed into.

The Monroe Police Department is investigating the report of a theft from a vehicle in the Rails-to-Trails Parking Lot.

According to police, a victim parked and locked her car around 3 p.m. on June 29 to walk the trail and when she returned at around 3:45 p.m., she found the passenger window of her car was smashed and her wallet, which was hidden under clothing, had been stolen.

Similar occurrences have been reported in surrounding communities, police said.

The Monroe Police Department reminds citizens not to leave valuables inside of the passenger compartment of their unattended cars. If you must leave behind valuable items lock them in your trunk.
