Town of Monroe's Budget Proposal is Lean for 2016 - 2017
Monroe First Selectman Steve Vavrek said this year's budget proposal will be one of the most conservative of his tenure.

The Town of Monroe recently shared charter demanded schedule of dates for the proposed 2016-2017 Town Budget.
According to Town charter, the budget is required to consist of a budget for all Town expenditures, including expenditures of the Board of Education, a capital expense budget, a financial plan for the fiscal year, an explanation by the First Selectman of the proposed budget and the fiscal policy proposed by the First Selectman and recommendations of the First Selectman concerning all proposed Town expenditures and capital projects.
The budget is supposed to be delivered to the Town Council not later than February 8 of each year.
