Trumbull Man Charged in Monroe Hit and Run Incident

The man backed into a car causing significant damage to its front.

A Trumbull man was charged in a hit and run incident that occurred in the parking lot of a Monroe restaurant on July 3.

According to police, Ryan Connolly, 39 backed his black GMC Acadia into a Nissan Pathfinder in the parking lot, which caused significant damage to the front of the Nissan. Connolly then allegedly quickly left the scene.

A witness wrote down the license plate number of the Acadia which led police to Connolly.

Officers located Connolly at his home and he admitted to backing into a vehicle, but thought he “just tapped it” and didn’t believe there was much damage, police said.

Connolly was placed under arrest and charged with evading responsibility and unsafe backing of a motor vehicle.

He was given a $500 bond and a court date of July 13.
