U2charist @ St. Peter's
10:15 AM Service - "Souper" Bowl Sunday February 7 - St. Peter's on the Green!
This is our 10th U2charist on the “Souper Bowl of Caring” Sunday. The U2charist is an Episcopal Eucharist service that features the music of the band U2, and a message about God’s call to rally around the Sustainable Development Goals. The music in this service is replete with images of our connection with God and the importance of caring for your neighbor, particularly the most vulnerable and those in need. Bono, from U2, is calling people worldwide to a deeper faith and engagement with God’s mission. Our U2charist continues to be an extension of this ministry in our parish.
We participate in “Souper” Bowl Sunday on February 7 at both services and join thousands of congregations to battle hunger in the “Souper Bowl of Caring.”
There will be soup pots for donations which will go to support those affected by the #FlintWaterCrisis by providing safe water as well as the components of a fresh, nutritious diet that will combat the effects of lead poisoning in Flint’s children & all canned food will go to our Monroe Food Pantry.
